two

We have entered the twos. I thought it was going to be smooth sailing, until five days ago. We have been on a tantrum overload. When the kids go to sleep Sean and I just sit in silence, because it's a welcomed break. I try each day to communicate with our little two-year-old so that I can avoid a tantrum, but it just isn't working-- yet.

Thankfully there are lots of cute moments to outweigh the rough ones. These are my favorites recently.

*Charlie will sing songs randomly. I don't know how he knows them all, but these are the ones he can sing completely: If You're Happy and You Know it, Do As I'm Doing, How Much is That Doggy, I'm Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee, Old MacDonald, Rum Sum Sum, Give Said the Little Stream, Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Popcorn Popping, Here We Are Together, Happy Birthday, ABCs, We Are a Happy Family, Book of Mormon Stories, Called to Serve, I am a Child of God, I Love To See the Temple, and I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus. I am surprised daily by the songs he can sing.
*He'll get himself in difficult situations, and call for me by saying: "Heeeeeellllp Mama, Heeeellllp!" and "I stuck Mama, I stuck!"
*He points out families in stories and will point and say our names instead of their actual names. "Baby Audri, Mama, Daddy, and Charlie".
*When we turn into our driveway he'll announce that we are at Charlie's house.
*Anyone that is eating food will be told they are eating "cereals". We'll be driving and he'll point out that the horses, cows, squirrels and birds are eating their "cereals".
*He can count to twenty (just gets 14, 15, and 16 confused).
*Loves his friends, especially Grayson. He is such a social kid.
*Tells me anytime someone is sad.
*Has a monstrous vocabulary and will say anything you say. We now have to be careful.
*Pointed to himself, while taking a bath, and started talking about his 'hot dog'. We need to start teaching him the correct terminology- we haven't ever referred to his little guy as a hot dog.
*He loves anything train related.
*Always asks if he can go play at various cousins' houses or to grandpa and grandma's house. Since Joanie stayed with us for nearly two weeks, he now asks to go see grandma Joanie.
*He loves Audri and looks for her right after waking up for the day or naps.
*As we tuck him in he always tells us to "be back mama or daddy, be back".
*Loves gum and calls it 'chew'. He can chew it for hours and then when he's done he brings it to me to throw away.
*Loves running, playing, jumping, climbing, and anything dirty.

Life was boring without him, that's for sure!

For his birthday we took family pictures, played at a park, took him to Toys R Us where he picked out a small train to add to his growing collection, played with balloons, ran around outside for as long as he wanted to, had birthday cake and ice cream, and watched 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse'. He had a great day!
